PTA alerts citizens about legal risks of sharing SIM cards

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued a strong warning to mobile phone users about the potential legal consequences of sharing their SIM cards with others.

The authority emphasized that criminal activities could be carried out using SIM cards registered in your name, and the responsibility for any such misuse would fall on the SIM card owner.

To ensure the security of your mobile connection, the PTA recommends checking how many SIM cards are registered under your CNIC.

How to Check SIM Cards Registered Under Your CNIC?

Users can verify this easily by visiting the official PTA website at [http://cnic.sims.pk](http://cnic.sims.pk) or by sending an SMS with their CNIC number to 668.

In case you find any unknown SIM cards associated with your identity, it is advised to immediately block them to prevent any potential misuse.

Furthermore, users are urged to obtain new SIM cards only from authorized franchises or customer service centers to ensure their authenticity.
