New SOPs have been issued to improve security arrangements in Punjab schools, it was reported on Wednesday.
According to the SOPs, the four walls of schools should be made 8-feet high and a security fence should be installed on them.
Along with the repair of CCTV cameras, UPS should be installed for them.
All schools were instructed that security guards with metal detectors and walk-through gates should also be installed.
It is also mandatory to keep a visitor register at the school gate.
In case of any emergency the contact number of police should also be displayed.
Action will be taken against school principals who fail to implement the orders.
