As the documents, one lakh and five thousand single and three-phase meters of LESCO were found faulty and burnt.
The number of damaged single-phase meters in LESCO was recorded at 102,000.
The number of damaged and burning three-phase meters was recorded at 2,400.
The replacement work could not be completed as the LESCO was running out of meters.
Under NEPRA rules, it is LESCO’s responsibility to replace faulty meters.
Average bills were sent instead of replacements due to stock unavailability.
Consumers are issued average bills after LESCO installed a defective code.
