Starting recovery campaign against defaulter government and private departments, the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has banned the facility of instalments available on current bills, it was reported on Tuesday.
Sources told the 24News TV channel that now the only facility available to consumers would be the payment of installments under the head of arrears.
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has provided to consumers the facility of installments twice in a year.
Sources also informed that in order to achieve the recovery targets, connections of the consumers failing to pay their bills were being severed.
LESCO, they added, had decided not to restore connections until the payment of arrears.
