They say showbiz is all red carpets and champagne, but a scroll through Mehar Bano’s latest post is a reminder that “glamour” sometimes is a purple kurta, a bright printed dupatta, and a rickshaw with a camera rig squeezed into the back.
She captioned, with a wink of sarcasm: “Wow aap to showbiz mei kaam karti hain, your life must be so glamorous”, as the Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3 actress sits calmly in the rickshaw, hair in loose curls, makeup neat but natural, while the production team and a DSLR peek into the door, showing an on-set shoot setting.
Fans often imagine actors moving through a continuous stream of luxury, but these frames show the other half of the magic: long shoots in odd locations, improvisation (that camera arm wedged into a rickshaw says it all), and a willingness to trade a formal set for a more humble, honest backdrop.
There’s something slightly hilarious and human about seeing a trained performer, like Mehar Bano, whom audiences associate with polished TV dramas, sharing a moment that looks like it could belong to any commuter on a street in Lahore. The contrast seems playful; to the common man, it makes the star feel closer, not smaller, as they can resonate with her and the struggles/luxuries of commuting in a rickshaw.
On one hand, the Daagh actress’s poised expressions and camera awareness prove the craft — she’s still performing, even in tight quarters. On the other hand, the visible crew, reflected lens, and rickshaw upholstery remind us that production is often a team sport played in imperfect spaces.
Mehar Bano is a National College of Arts graduate who moved into television and film, she first attracted widespread attention for roles in serials such as Daagh (earning a Lux Style Awards nomination) and later for performances in Balaa, Meray Paas Tum Ho and the web anthology Churails, as well as the film Motorcycle Girl.

She also often showcases her love of dance on social media, and her public profiles reference dance and performances in gyms, theatres, and the bustling streets of Lahore, sometimes alongside the famous dancer Ahsan Raza.
