Why did Jannat Mirza miss Mahira & Fawad’s Neelofar premiere?

The glittering carpet outside last night’s premiere for Neelofar, the much-awaited Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan reunion, had one conspicuous absentee: social-media sensation Jannat Mirza. Invited and expected, the TikTok star did not appear, sparking immediate speculation across fan pages and private Instagram threads: was she travelling, keeping away by choice, or is there some behind-the-scenes drama we don’t yet know?

Close friend and influencer Ken Doll shared a short clip featuring Jannat’s sister, Alishba Anjum, and vlogger Momin Saqib. In it, Alishba quietly says, “I miss Jannat,” to which Ken replies, “Aww, me too.”

The clip itself does not explain whether Jannat was out of the country or simply skipping the event for personal reasons; no official statement from Jannat or her representatives has been posted so far.

Neelofar – a film that centres on love, loss and fortitude, and starring Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan, premiered yesterday, November 27, 2025, bringing together some of Pakistan’s biggest industry names. Set against a traditional romantic backdrop, the film centres on Neelofar, a blind girl who develops feelings for a writer. Shot primarily in Lahore, most of the production wrapped up two years earlier.

The sparkle of the evening continued as celebrities – Resham, Ali Zafar, Natasha, Intikhab Alam, Wajahat Rauf, Atif Aslam, Fatima Amjed, Meerub Ali, Madiha Imam, Sarwat Gillani, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Sarmad Khoosat, Ahmad Ali Butt, Ammar Rasool, Zubab Rana, Aena Khan, Nameer Khan, Ahmad Ali Akber, Gohar Rasheed, Syed Noor, Behroze Sabzwari, Saleem Sheikh, and Sahmad Butt – lit up Lahore’s grandest film event of the year.

Mahira Khan came along with husband Salim Karim, while Fawad Khan was seen all cheery on the red carpet with wife Sadaf Fawad Khan.
