Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Mohsin Naqvi made a surprise visit to Islamabad International Airport on Saturday and reviewed the immigration process at the airport for two hours.
During his visit, Mohsin Naqvi also met passengers who were travelling abroad and different questions from them about the immigration process.
Mohsin Naqvi also ordered a crackdown on visa agents and said that there will be no concessions from agents who send innocent people abroad by promising them jobs.
Mohsin Naqvi took strict notice of a complaint of a passenger filed on November 7 about the shortage of staff at immigration counters and ordered an inquiry.
Mohsin Naqvi said the entire situation should be reviewed through CCTV footage.
Mohsin Naqvi ensured citizens that in the future, they will not get a chance to complain in this regard.
No passenger with necessary documents should be stopped from travelling, Mohsin Naqvi ordered.
He said travellers going abroad through fake documents or other illegal means are bringing disrepute to the country and this situation cannot be allowed to continue at any cost.
Agent mafia is playing with the future of innocent people for the greed of money and is bringing bad name to the country, Mohsin Naqvi said.
