The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) fell short of its tax collection target for November, 2025 recording a significant gap between projected and actual revenues.
Reports said the authority managed to collect Rs878 billion against the monthly target of Rs1,034 billion, resulting in a Rs156 billion shortfall.
Officials anticipate that the deficit may shrink by around Rs5 billion with final-day adjustments.
For December, the FBR has set a collection target of Rs1,406 billion.
During the first five months of the ongoing fiscal year, tax collection reached Rs4,715 billion against the target of Rs5,083 billion, leaving a cumulative shortfall of Rs413 billion.
To minimize the deficit and push revenue closer to the target, FBR offices are scheduled to remain open on November 29 (Saturday).
