3 terrorists killed in Bannu police-Hathikhel clan joint operation

A joint operation by the Bannu Police and the Hathikhel clan resulted in the killing of three terrorists on Saturday after an intense gun battle in the Tarkhe-Oba area of Ahmed Zai police station limits.

Several other terrorists were injured during the confrontation, officials confirmed.

According to Bannu Police, the clash began when terrorists opened fire in Tarkhe-Oba. Local residents from the Hathikhel clan quickly joined hands with the police, engaging the attackers with full force.

Authorities said they received immediate information about the incident, prompting police and security forces to rush to the spot.

Long exchange of fire

 

Police officials said the joint team carried out a long and tactical exchange of fire, after which the situation was brought under control. Three terrorists were killed and their bodies shifted to a hospital for legal formalities.

A complete search operation was conducted across the area and the police took full control of the affected locality. The participation of the brave citizens of Hathikhel clan was praised for playing a decisive role in countering the attackers.

Security heightened after operation

 

Bannu DIG Sajjad Khan said peace in the region would be maintained “at all costs,” adding that security has been placed on high alert and the siege against terrorists tightened further. He stated that the successful operation reflects strong coordiclan between the police, locals and security forces in Bannu.

Bannu DPO Yasir Afridi said the people of the area are united and committed to ensuring the complete eradication of terrorism.
