The Sindh government has approved the extension of the deployment of Rangers in Karachi for an additional year.
The decision was made during a meeting of the Sindh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.
A spokesperson for the chief minister said the Rangers will continue to assist the police under the powers granted to them by the Anti-Terrorism Act.
The new deployment period will be effective from December 9, 2025. Rangers will maintain their role in combating terrorism and supporting law enforcement efforts in Karachi.
