Days after veteran actor Dharmendra passed away at the age of 89, rumours about disputes over his reported ₹400 crore will began circulating online. However, a close family insider has strongly denied any such conflict, calling the stories “baseless” and “ill-timed.”
Dharmendra died on November 24, 2025, at his Mumbai residence, weeks after being admitted to Breach Candy Hospital due to age-related complications and breathing issues.
Soon after his death, social media posts alleged that his sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol intended to exclude Hema Malini, Esha Deol, and Ahana Deol from his inheritance.
According to Indian media reports, a close family friend has dismissed these rumours. The friend said the claims were “untrue” and timed insensitively amid the family’s grief.
No disputes over wealth, says insider
The family friend stressed that there is no feud over Dharmendra’s assets. “All members of the family are financially independent. There is no dispute over inheritance,” the insider stated.
They explained that although Esha and Ahana may not hold legal rights through their mother under certain laws, Sunny Deol has no intention of distancing them.
“Sunny is heartbroken right now. But Esha and Ahana remain an important part of the Deol family, exactly as Dharmendra wanted,” the friend added.
On November 27, Sunny and Bobby organised a prayer meet at Taj Lands End in Bandra.
Hema Malini and her daughters held a separate service at their residence to honour the late actor.
Despite the ceremonies being conducted separately, the insider insisted that the family remains emotionally united as they cope with the loss of the iconic star whose legacy spans generations.
