Sheikh Rasheed says he is facing 13 more cases

Former interior minister and Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed said on Wednesday that cases were registered against him despite the fact that he was not in Pakistan.

Speaking to reporters outside an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi, he lamented that his nephew was handed 40-year prison term in a case registered in Faisalabad despite the fact that he had not seen the city.

“My properties have also been confiscated,” Rasheed said, adding that 13 more cases had been registered against him.

The AML chief said it was unfortunate that parents had stopped sending their children to schools and colleges because of poverty, inflation and unemployment.

He urged parents not to stop sending their children for studies.
