Sonya Hussyn has been congratulated by Shehzad Rafique, Chairman of the Pakistan Film Producers Association (PFPA), for winning the Best Actor Award for her role in Deemak, directed by Rafay Rashdi, at the Euroasia Film Festival in Moscow, Russia.

Responding to the congratulatory message, Sonya expressed her gratitude, writing:

“Respected Shehzad Sahab, I am truly grateful for your thoughtful congratulations and the kind wishes extended on behalf of the PFPA. I sincerely appreciate the support and encouragement you’ve shown.

“Indeed, the success of our industry is a collective effort of dedicated individuals like yourself, along with all the esteemed members of the Producers Association. I look forward to our continued journey towards greater achievements together, Inshallah.”

Sonya concluded her message with heartfelt patriotism, adding, “Pakistan Zindabad ????????”

This exchange highlights the collaborative spirit within Pakistan’s film industry and celebrates Sonya Hussyn’s remarkable achievement on an international platform.

Sonya also represented Pakistan in London, where she promoted the film and met Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the UK, Dr. Mohammed Faisal. Sharing moments from her visit, she wrote, “Honoured to meet Dr. Mohammed Faisal during the promotional run for Deemak.”

She said she discussed film budgets, global collaborations, and the need for stronger international partnerships—especially with the UK—to help bring Pakistani stories to a wider global audience.

Sonya added that such interactions with diplomats are rare in the current entertainment landscape but vital for cultural representation.

Deemak, based on true events, explored generational trauma, mental health, and family bonds, aiming to highlight socially relevant themes.

Expressing gratitude, Sonya said, “Feeling grateful to see Pakistani cinema making its way onto the global stage. Thank you, London, for all the love.”
