Salman Khan hasn’t ‘dined out in 25 years’

Salman Khan has revealed a striking detail about his personal routine: he hasn’t gone out for dinner in more than two decades.

Speaking during a session at the Red Sea Film Festival, the actor explained that his life has long followed a strict cycle of home, work, airports and hotels, or as he put it, “bas ghar se shooting, airport, ya hotel.”

Appearing at the festival on Thursday, Salman opened up about the rhythms of his life and career.

He spoke about losing several close friends over the years and said that only a handful remain from his earliest circle.

“Most of my life I’ve always been around my family and friends, jismein se kafi nikal gaye hain aur bas abhi 4-5 hi hain jo bahut phele se hain mere saath,” he shared.

Salman then revealed the extent of his disciplined lifestyle.

“25-26 saal hogaye hain ke main kahin bahar dinner pe nahi gaya hun. Shooting se ghar, ghar se shooting, ghar se airport, airport se hotel aur hotel se yahan. That’s it. This is my life,” he said, describing a routine shaped almost entirely by professional commitments.

When asked whether he misses a more spontaneous life, Salman admitted he doesn’t regret his choices.

“And I don’t mind it… Ya toh yeh chaiyeh ke aap ghumo phiro aur yeh sab na ho, that is something that I don’t want. Itni izzat dete hai aur pyaar dete hain.. Ussi ke liye mehnat karta hun… Beech beech mein thodha complacent ho jaata hun.. But usko bhi enjoy karta hun kyeh sochke ke aa gaye kya aane wala hai,” he explained.

He reflected that while he occasionally grows complacent, he still enjoys anticipating what the future holds.

This marks Salman’s second appearance at the Red Sea festival. He also attended the Golden Globes gala dinner, where he was photographed with Hollywood and international stars including Idris Elba and Edgar Ramírez, as well as meeting Johnny Depp.

Salman’s most recent big-screen outing was Sikandar, which fell short of expectations. He also made a cameo in Aryan Khan’s debut web series, The Ba**ds of Bollywood*, and returned as host of Bigg Boss 19.

Up next, he is set to star in Battle of Galwan, directed by Apoorva Lakhia. The film, which also features Chitrangda Singh, will depict the deadly 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops — a confrontation marked by hand-to-hand combat rather than the use of firearms.
