Legislation ready to make govt employees’ assets public: Aurangzeb

Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb on Saturday said that the government has finalized legislation regarding making assets of government employees public.

Addressing business community at LCCI in Lahore, Finance Minister Aurangzeb said “This legislation was not an additional condition from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) but a practical step from the government.”

Aurangzeb said the national economy is moving forward strength by strength due to effective policies adopted by the incumbent government.

The minister said due to effective reforms all economic indicators are positive, adding “Investment-friendly policies played a vital role in strengthening of economy.”

Aurangzeb said that improvements in export-based industries led to an increase in generating more foreign exchange.

He said “Businesses have been boosted due to the restoration of confidence among investors and traders.”

He said that a meeting of the National Finance Commission was held last week in which it was decided that all the participants will move forward with consensus.

Aurangzeb said that due to the hectic efforts of the economic team marginal decrease was witnessed in corruption.

He said the industrial sector has expanded due to e-commerce and the digital economy, adding the services sector is also gaining momentum.

He expressed his happiness that both the government and the private sector are working to strengthen the economy.

Aurangzeb said the country will prosper if the economy kept moving in the right direction. He said that the federal government has already cut its expenditure.

He said that the private sector will generate employment opportunities because it is not the government’s responsibility.
