A humorous yet sharply observant take on generational identity is making the rounds on social media, and actor Sonya Hussaiyn is clearly here for it.
The star recently reshared a reel by Ali Altaf on her Instagram story, captioning it with “Exactly” followed by three laughing emojis, agreeing to his now-viral explanation of why people born between the mid-to-late 1990s don’t quite belong anywhere.

The reel, delivered in Ali Altaf’s trademark conversational tone, tackles the long-debated question of whether those born between 1996 and 1999 are Millennials or Gen Z.
His anecdote struck a chord precisely because it mirrors the confusion many in that age bracket have experienced.
“Meri dost mujhe kehti hai yar Ali tum Gen-Z ho ya millennial? Mein ne kaha mein 1996 mein paida huya hun, tou mein millenial hun ga. Kehti Ali Oh tum tou kisi group mein nahi aatay.
“Ye mere liyay nayi information thi. Kehti Ali 1995 tak jo log paida huyay hein wo millenials hein aur Gen-Z tou 2000 se shuru hotay hein.
“Tou mein ne kaha us ke darmiyaan mein kia huya tha, ye groups banaanay wala banda faut ho gaya tha, ya insanon ki jagah kabootar paida honay shuru ho gaye thay?
“Kehti: Ali tum disputed years mein aatay ho, tumhein dono groups accept nahi krta. Gen Z ko lagta hai tum itne cool nahi ho, Millenials ko lagta hai tum itne classy nahi ho, tou mein ne kaha ham apna group bana laitay hein. GEN-WHY.
“Kehti Ali wo already ham ap logon ko kehtay hein – GEN-WHY?”
