The Punjab government constituted a high-level committee to detect illegal housing societies and appointed Provincial Minister of Housing Bilal Yasin as its convener, it was reported on Friday.
Officials from revenue, law, local government, and housing department, Lahore Development Authority (LDA), and Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA) are also included in the team.
The committee will submit its report to the provincial cabinet. The Committee will also regulate the file system.
The Committee will suggest Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the implementation of the recommendations against illegal housing societies.
The Committee will also implement the recommendations of the Board of Revenue (BoR), Punjab.
