Politically-motivated cases cannot deter us, says KP CM

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has declared that politically-motivated cases cannot intimidate them and they will not step back an inch from their principled stance.

Talking to media persons in Mardan on Saturday, the KP CM said the court has announced the verdict against PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi without hearing to their lawyers properly.

Sohail Afridi said “If the court has announced the verdict without listening to the lawyers of the PTI founder, then it’s absolutely wrong.”

He said, “People know the nature of the cases as they are all politically motivated.”

He said if the court failed to deliver justice and the Election Commission also paid no heed to their issues, then there is no option other than holding protest demonstrations.

Sohail Afridi said, “We are not even allowed to meet our leader; in such a situation, peaceful protest is a constitutional right.”

He said the Pakhtunkhwa government has moved forward with the constitutional provision of the right of assembly for peaceful protest.

Sohail Afridi said, “No one can take away our right to peaceful protest; we will exercise this right at all costs.”

The KP Chief Minister said “We finalized our future strategy and will move forward as per our plan.”

The Chief Minister said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will not support any military operation and will not become a part of it. He directed workers to prepare themselves, as this time they will start agitation with all preparations.

Sohail Afridi said “We have no room for error, we will stand for our rights.”
