Bollywood Actor Vicky Kaushal is embracing a new chapter of his life as a first-time father and says he is cherishing every moment since welcoming his baby boy with wife Katrina Kaif. While enjoying fatherhood, the actor has already thought about a meaningful milestone he looks forward to, introducing his son to one of the most important films of his career.

Vicky was recently honoured with the Actor of the Year award at the NDTV Indian of the Year 2025 awards ceremony, held in Delhi on Friday. Speaking to the news channel after receiving the accolade, the actor opened up about fatherhood and reflected on how his personal life has evolved since becoming a parent.
During the conversation, Vicky was asked which of his films he would want his son to watch first when he grows up.
Responding thoughtfully, the actor said, “Wow, the first film. I would like him to watch my first film. Masaan. It’s a nice film. I know it’s a hard film to watch, so maybe later on, not too early on in his life…. But it shows life as life is.”

Masaan, directed by Neeraj Ghaywan, marked Vicky Kaushal’s breakthrough as a leading actor.
In the critically acclaimed social drama, he played Deepak Kumar, a civil engineering student who works part-time at the cremation ghats along the Ganges.
The film delves into themes of life and death, grief, love and loss, while also addressing the social stigma surrounding pre-marital relationships. The performance earned Vicky widespread recognition and laid the foundation for his successful film career.

Vicky also spoke candidly about raising his child under constant public scrutiny and whether he worries about his son’s privacy while growing up in the limelight.

Sharing his perspective, he said, “The one principle that I live by is that the thing you fear the most is the thing you attract the most…. Guarding my privacy doesn’t come with the emotion of fear. I go into that with a pinch of salt, always remembering that there might be a slip off, there might be something that can come out which you might not like. I’m not the first person it’ll happen to, and I’m not the last person it’ll happen to. It’s something that we truly guard because it’s very special and sacred. We really would want some part of our personal life to be away from that limelight.”

Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif welcomed their baby boy in November this year and shared the news with fans through a heartfelt post that read, “Our bundle of joy has arrived. With immense love and gratitude, we welcome our baby boy.”
The couple tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony at Six Senses Fort Barwara in Rajasthan on December 9, 2021.

On the professional front, Vicky had a landmark year with Chhaava, one of India’s highest-grossing films of 2025. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the historical epic went on to collect 807 Indian crores worldwide at the box office. He will next be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film Love & War, which also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.
