Advising the PTI to become realistic and play the role of a genuine opposition rather than spoiling its politics for the sake of only one person, Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah said on Saturday that he condemned threats, which were hurled at the state institutions at the PTI rally in the UK.
Speaking to the media men in Sukkur, he said it was unfortunate that people sitting abroad had unleashed propaganda against the country and the country’s military leadership. “Pakistan has taken up the issue of threats with the British government.”
The chief minister said he was at a loss to understand what the PTI leaders were up to. “On one hand, they want talks with the government, while the release of former prime minister and the party founder Imran Khan on the other.”
CM Murad said he was not aware whether Imran had been shifted from Adiala Jail to any other jail. “PTI leaders should now become realistic. They should bear this thing in mind that the people have not voted for them so that they could keep protesting, but for the resolution of their issues.”
He said that the PPP government in Sindh had initiated a number of development projects in Sukkur. “However, more development projects are needed,” he admitted.
The chief minister said that the Sukkur Barrage was closed because of the repair work.
He informed that so far over one million homes had been built for the flood-affected people in Sindh, while more were being built.
He went on to say that the government was distributing solar homes among people so that they could have access to electricity at cheaper rates. “We have already distributed 1.6 million solar homes,” CM Murad said, adding that in the next phase, 250,000 households will get electricity for free.
