Pakistan has outperformed India in public optimism regarding economic prospects and global peace, according to the latest Global Economic Gallup Survey conducted across 60 countries.
The survey findings indicate that Pakistan not only surpassed India but also exceeded the global average on key indicators related to economic outlook and expectations of peace, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Thursday.
According to the survey data, 51 percent of respondents in Pakistan expressed optimism about the year 2026, resulting in a net positive outlook of 31 percent.
In economic terms, 53 percent of Pakistanis described 2026 as a year likely to bring prosperity, significantly higher than the corresponding figure of 39 percent recorded in India. The survey noted that Pakistan’s optimism was also well above the global average of 24 percent.
Pakistan also showed stronger expectations regarding peace, with 52 percent of respondents believing that global peace would improve. In contrast, only 26 percent of respondents in India shared this view.
The Gallup survey noted that the current level of optimism in Pakistan ranks among the highest recorded since 1994, with comparable trends previously observed during the late 1990s and the mid-2010s.
Overall, the survey concluded that Pakistan performed above the global average on three major indicators, including 1) overall hope, 2) expectations of economic prosperity, and 3) peace outlook.
Pakistan outperformed India on two of these measures, reflecting a resilient and confident public mood despite prevailing global uncertainty.
