The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has released its Annual Performance Report for the year 2025, highlighting remarkable achievements in public safety, emergency response and effective use of modern technology to ensure citizens security across the province.
According to the spokesperson PSCA, Smart Safe Cities Project was further expanded during 2025 and is now actively operational in 24 cities of Punjab.
This expansion marks a significant step toward transforming Punjab into a safer, more peaceful, integrated and technologically advanced province.
The spokesperson stated that during 2025, Emergency Helpline 15 received more than 15 million calls, which were handled with prompt and efficient response mechanisms. Through Virtual Women Police Station, over 541,760 women received immediate legal assistance and protection. Meanwhile, Virtual Center for Child Safety successfully resolved more than 100,000 cases, reuniting 58,570 missing children with their families which speak volumes of an outstanding humanitarian achievement.
In addition, Virtual Blood Bank played a crucial role in saving precious human lives by facilitating timely blood arrangements for over 48,000 patients, while Virtual Center for Minorities resolved more than 4,418 cases, ensuring effective protection and support for minority communities.
The spokesperson further revealed that more than 345 emergency cases were promptly addressed through Emergency Panic Button, enabling swift intervention and assistance by the relevant stakeholders. Under the CM Free Wi-Fi Project, over 1,500 Wi-Fi hotspots were activated across Punjab, providing citizens with enhanced digital connectivity.
The Public Safety App also received an overwhelming public response, surpassing 1.4 million downloads, allowing citizens to access emergency assistance with a single click. Moreover, use of drone technology brought a significant transformation in public safety operations. Through advanced thermal and docking drones, PSCA ensured immediate and effective response within seconds during emergencies.
The spokesperson further added that implementation of Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) resulted in 47 percent reduction in traffic accidents, reflecting improved road safety and traffic discipline. Under ’Meri Pehchan’ Project, biometric verification helped reunite 3,000 unidentified individuals and 2,000 elderly citizens with their families.
Concluding the report, the PSCA spokesperson reaffirmed the Authority’s unwavering resolve to safeguarding lives and property through advanced technology and innovation, emphasizing that PSCA remains steadfast to introduce even more effective initiatives in future to serve the citizens of Punjab with unflinching determination.
