The city of Gujranwala, renowned as the city of wrestlers in Pakistan and worldwide, is set to host one of the country’s biggest desi wrestling events, Rustum-e-Pakistan Dangal, on January 16 at Jinnah Stadium, 24NewsHD TV reported on Friday.
Announcing the event, Commissioner Gujranwala Naveed Haider said wrestling enthusiasts from across the nation will witness a thrilling showdown between two of Gujranwala’s top wrestlers, Adnan Tyranwala and Gulzar alias Gulu.
Both athletes have earned acclaim at national and international levels.
The winner of the Rustum-e-Pakistan Dangal will receive the Rustum-e-Pakistan mace and Rs 1.5 million in cash, while the runner-up will be awarded Rs 1 million.
