Bollywood star Deepika Padukone celebrated her 40th birthday by unveiling a new initiative aimed at mentoring emerging talent in India’s film, television, and advertising industries. On January 5, the Padmaavat and Love Aaj Kal actress announced the launch of The OnSet Program through a social media post and video.
In the video, Deepika expressed her enthusiasm for supporting young creatives. “This past year, I’ve been passionate about discovering incredible talent from across the country and giving them a platform to be seen, heard, and experienced,” she said. “I am beyond thrilled to launch ‘The OnSet Program’ and cannot wait to introduce all of you to the next generation of creative talent.”
In her social media caption, she described the initiative as an “experiential learning program for technicians across various departments wanting to build a career in Indian film, television, and advertising.” Aspiring participants are invited to submit their work and personal stories for the opportunity to collaborate with established industry professionals.
The announcement comes amid a busy period in Deepika’s career. She is set to star in director Atlee’s upcoming sci-fi project with Allu Arjun, tentatively titled AA22 x A6, and will also feature in King, directed by Siddharth Anand and co-starring Shah Rukh Khan. She was last seen in the pan-Indian film Kalki 2898 AD.
