Akshaye Khanna’s entry in Dhurandhar was backed by the haunting track Fa9la, the moment instantly stood out. Months later, the song’s creator, Bahrain-based rapper Flipperachi, is hinting that his journey with the franchise may not be over.
The moment Akshaye Khanna appeared on screen in Dhurandhar, accompanied by Fa9la, it felt different from a routine villain introduction. The music stayed with audiences long after the credits rolled.
Within days, the track spread across Instagram reels, reaction videos, and dance clips filmed everywhere from living rooms to parking lots.
Surprise breakthrough for Flipperachi
For singer-producer Flipperachi, whose real name is Hussam Aseem, the sudden popularity came as a shock. Speaking to India Today, he described the response as overwhelming.
“To be honest, it’s crazy. My DMs are blowing up every single day. I cannot keep up with the people that are just tagging me for the song and enjoying and vibing with it,” he said.
Flipperachi admitted he initially struggled to grasp how big Fa9la had become in India. “I remember when they first told me, your song is booming in India, I was like, what?” he recalled.
The impact only truly registered once the track became inseparable from Khanna’s dark on-screen presence.
Hinting at ‘Dhurandhar 2’
Asked about a possible return for Dhurandhar 2, expected next year, Flipperachi stopped short of a confirmation. However, his response left room for speculation.
“I was going to keep it a surprise, but I guess there’s something. I wouldn’t want to tell you everything about it, but yeah, there might be something, yes,” he said.
According to Flipperachi, director Aditya Dhar’s team selected Fa9la almost immediately after hearing it. The decision came down to the song’s mood.
“The strings in it, the dark strings,” he said, explaining how the track’s tone aligned perfectly with the character and narrative.
As Dhurandhar crossed Rs 1,200 crore at the global box office, Fa9la continued to gain momentum. The track’s popularity has quietly expanded Flipperachi’s footprint in Indian cinema.
