Trial run of Pakistan-Iran ferry service next week

A trial run of a ferry service between Karachi and Chahbahar, Iran, will take place next week, it was reported on Thursday.

The ferry will have a capacity of 240 passengers and three services will be available per week.

The return fare of the ferry will be Rs 50,000.

Addressing inaugural ceremony of ferry terminal, Minister for Maritime Affairs said that the ferry service will provide safe travel and promote sea tourism.

Development issues at Port Qasim will be resolved, the Minister said.

The Minister said Chairman of Port Qasim will announce an international standard industrial zone.

When I took over the portfolio of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, it was found that the license for the ferry service has not been issued till date, Minister said.

He said a file for obtaining a license was kept for 5 years and we reopened it and issued a license for the ferry service in 7 days.

The confidence of the business community in the ports of Pakistan has been restored.

Earlier, the business community used to ask questions about the ports and now they approach them for business.

The performance of all the institutions associated with the Ministry of Maritime Affairs is improving.

The ferry service will ensure safe travel and promote maritime tourism.

Investors should bring ideas and we will implement them without any red tape.

Development issues at Port Qasim will be resolved. The Chairman of Port Qasim will announce an industrial zone of international standards.
