Russia eyes stronger partnership with Pakistan, says diplomat

Gleb Shubin, Attaché for Culture, Science and Education at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Pakistan, has said that Russia wishes progress and prosperity for the people of Pakistan, it was reported on Friday.

He expressed these views while addressing a certificate distribution ceremony for students who successfully completed a basic Russian language course at the Russian Center for Science, Education, and Culture.

The Russian diplomat said there are vast opportunities for cooperation between Pakistan and Russia in various fields, adding that several joint projects are already underway.

He noted that the establishment of the Russian Center in the heart of Lahore is a significant and welcome development that will further strengthen friendly relations between the two countries.

Earlier, Chairman of the Russian Center Dr. Shahid Hassan and Co-Chairman Prof Ashraf Nizami warmly welcomed the Russian delegation on their arrival.

The guests toured different sections of the center and expressed their appreciation and interest in its activities.

Gleb Shubin, along with delegation member Ivan Inzhevatov, distributed certificates among male and female students who completed the basic Russian language course.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Shahid Hassan and Prof Ashraf Nizami highlighted the establishment, objectives, and ongoing initiatives of the Russian Center.

President of the Pakistan–Russia Friendship Forum Dr Iftikhar Bukhari and Russian language teacher Madam Natasha Antaliya also spoke on the occasion.

Certificates were awarded to successful students, including Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry, Ms. Amina, Dawood Bhutta, Muhammad Maqsood, Shehbaz Anwar Khan, and others. Among the attendees were Comrade Muhammad Asif, Tanveer Bhutta, Engineer Hasnain Raza Mirza, Professor Iftikhar Rasool Sheikh, Nawab Khan, Imran Ali, and several others.
