PPP slams govt for promulgating ordinance sans president’s nod

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Senator Palwasha Khan said on Tuesday that the PPP’s stance on privatization was clear.

Speaking to the media, she said that the party would raise its voice and bring forth the facts.

The senator lamented that yesterday an ordinance was promulgated which did not bear the signatures of President Asif Ali Zardari. “The president was deceived,” she said, and added this was because he was completely in dark that the ordinance had been issued in his name.

“The government, on the other hand, said that it happened by mistake,” Palwasha said, and added that she had heard about fake degrees but never about fake ordinances.

She went on to say that it would be the PPP’s advice to the government to come to its senses. “I think Pakistan cannot afford such mistakes.”

The senator demanded the government to throw out such people whose actions led to such mistakes. “This practice of promulgating ordinances without president’s knowledge must stop.”
