A new rain-producing weather system is expected to move into Pakistan from the western regions on Thursday, bringing precipitation mainly to northern parts of Punjab, while most plain areas, including Lahore, are likely to stay dry.
According to weather authorities, intense cold and dense fog continue to affect Lahore and several other districts of Punjab. Intermittent cloud cover combined with brief sunny spells has further intensified the chilly conditions across the province.
Meteorologists said the incoming system is expected to have a greater impact on mountainous areas such as Murree and the Galiyat, where light to moderate rainfall is anticipated. In contrast, there is little to no chance of rain in Lahore and other low-lying districts over the next 24 hours.
Lahore recorded a minimum temperature of 3.6 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, while daytime temperatures are expected to rise to around 14 degrees Celsius. Similar cold and dry weather is forecast for most plain regions of Punjab, with fog likely to persist during early mornings and late nights.
