US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker praises Pakistan’s reforms process

Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb on Friday met US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to strengthening economic cooperation, trade, and investment between Pakistan and the United States.

During the meeting, Natalie Baker praised Pakistan’s improving economic stability and ongoing economic recovery, lauding the government’s reform process and macroeconomic agenda. She acknowledged the steps taken by Pakistan to stabilize the economy and create a more predictable and investor-friendly environment.

The US Chargé d’Affaires reaffirmed the United States’ full support for promoting trade and investment with Pakistan and expressed interest in further enhancing bilateral economic relations. She noted that sustained reforms would help unlock new opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.

The Finance Ministry also welcomed a cryptocurrency cooperation agreement between Pakistan and the US-based company Liberty Financial, describing it as a positive development that reflects growing confidence in Pakistan’s reform trajectory and openness to innovation in the financial sector.

Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb reiterated the government’s firm commitment to the continuation of economic reforms, emphasizing policies aimed at maintaining macroeconomic stability, encouraging foreign investment, and fostering sustainable growth.

Both sides agreed to continue engagement to deepen economic ties and explore new avenues of collaboration in trade, investment, and emerging financial technologies.
