Sovereignty is non-negotiable: CDF Asim Munir warns against external threats

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Commander of Defence Forces (CDF), Field Marshal Asim Munir, visited Bahawalpur Garrison on Thursday to observe a high-intensity field exercise and review the operational readiness of Pakistan’s armed forces.

During his visit, Field Marshal Munir was briefed on various operational, training, and administrative aspects of the Corps, with a special focus on multi-domain warfare capabilities. He witnessed the “Steadfast Resolve” exercise at Khairpur Tamewali, which showcased the integration of advanced technologies, including unmanned aerial systems, electronic warfare assets, modern surveillance tools, and state-of-the-art command-and-control mechanisms.

Addressing the troops, Field Marshal Munir praised their professionalism, high morale, and operational competence. He emphasized that Pakistan’s armed forces are fully prepared to safeguard the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity against any threat. He also highlighted the importance of maintaining readiness for the evolving nature of warfare, where technological advancements are increasingly shaping offensive and defensive operations.

The COAS & CDF underlined that the Pakistan Armed Forces are undergoing a significant transformation across multiple domains. He noted that future battlefields will rely heavily on technology-driven strategies, making innovation, indigenization, and adaptation essential components of military preparedness.

In addition to the field exercise, Field Marshal Munir inaugurated the ROHI eSkills Learning Hub (STP) to promote digital skills and learning opportunities for students, particularly in Southern Punjab. He also inaugurated the APS Abbasia Campus, emphasizing the army’s ongoing commitment to quality education and character development.

The COAS & CDF later visited the EME Regional Workshop, where he was briefed on the maintenance and modernization of military platforms using advanced technology and indigenous solutions.

Upon arrival at Bahawalpur Garrison, Field Marshal Munir was received by the Commander of Bahawalpur Corps. He also paid tribute to the country’s martyrs by laying a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offering Fateha.
