A strong wave of public reaction has emerged across the country against the so-called “Peace Board” allegedly established by the United States under the pretext of resolving the Palestine issue. On the call of Majlis-e-Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen (MWM) Pakistan, peaceful yet resolute protest demonstrations were held in various provinces and districts.
In Dera Ismail Khan, a large number of believers gathered outside Kotli Imam Hussain (A.S.) after Friday prayers and staged a protest.
Following the demonstration, a formal protest walk was organized, during which participants raised loud slogans in support of Palestine and against alleged American and Israeli conspiracies.
Public anger was also witnessed in the suburban areas of the city. Protest demonstrations were held at Dhala on Chashma Road and in Haji Morah, where participants categorically rejected any plan perceived to be against the aspirations of the Palestinian people.
The protesters termed the US-backed board as pro-Israel, anti-Palestine, and an oppressive conspiracy, stating that it was an attempt to undermine the legitimate right of freedom of the Palestinian people.
They also strongly criticized Pakistan’s alleged participation in the controversial board, calling it a clear deviation from Pakistan’s historic and principled stance on Palestine.
The protest in Dera Ismail Khan was led by Muhammad Tanveer Mehdi, District President of Majlis-e-Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen and a noted legal expert.
Addressing the gathering, he stated unequivocally that the Pakistani nation would not accept any pressure, compromise, or deal on the issue of Palestine and would continue to stand firmly with the Palestinian people.
