A top security official held a meeting with media persons in Karachi on Friday and shared details about the situation in Tirah Valley, Balochistan and broader national security matters.
According to security sources, no major military operation is currently taking place in Tirah. Only intelligence-based operations (IBOs) are being conducted against terrorists based on actionable intelligence. The sources said that current weather conditions are not suitable for any major operation in the Tirah Valley.
Security sources termed reports of a large-scale operation in Tirah as false and baseless, clarifying that no increase in troop numbers has been made anywhere in the area, which negates such claims. They said these operations will continue until the last terrorist is eliminated.
The sources stated that the nexus between terrorists and criminals has been exposed, adding that no narrative can create a rift between the army and the people. All decisions, they said, are made in consultation with tribal elders and local dignitaries, keeping local traditions and conditions in mind.
Referring to Balochistan, security sources said that Fitna-ul-Hindustan is in reality an enemy of the facilities and development of the people of the province. They said the people of Balochistan have recognized those who commit acts of terrorism under the guise of deprivation.
Security sources highlighted development work in Balochistan, stating that more than 25,000 kilometers of roads and four hospitals for cardiac patients have been built in the province.
They said that in the “war of truth,” the Pakistan Army gave the enemy an exemplary response. Security sources warned that if India attempts any aggression again, it will receive a more befitting reply than before, alleging that India seeks to disrupt peace in Pakistan and is funding terrorists in Afghanistan and Balochistan.
The sources said that, on the instructions of Field Marshal Asim Munir, the army remained present on the western border during the conflict. They claimed that Pakistan has achieved a significant success in drone technology.
Security sources emphasized the importance of a strong media, stating that Pakistan needs a powerful media and acknowledging that the media played a significant role in the “war of truth.”
