The Pakistan Meteorological Department announced on Saturday that a fresh rain system will enter Punjab tonight and bring colder weather across the province. Officials said the system will move into districts including Rawalpindi, Sargodha, and Faisalabad tomorrow and lower temperatures in many areas.
Meteorologists forecast that the system will influence weather patterns across the country until February 3. In Lahore, temperatures will range between a minimum of 9°C and a maximum of 21°C. The department cautioned that cold conditions will intensify from February 1 to 3 in most regions.
Forecasters predicted rain in Quetta, Ziarat, Qila Saifullah, Zhob, Noshki, and Chaman. They also expected snowfall in nearby mountainous areas. Upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan will face severe cold and heavy snowfall.
Authorities advised travellers to remain careful as snowfall could make roads slippery and trigger landslides in hilly terrain. Fog may also reduce visibility and create hazards for drivers.
Earlier this month, Naran and Kaghan witnessed record-breaking snowfall that blocked roads, disrupted electricity supply for five days, and paralysed daily life. The snowfall turned the valleys into a striking winter landscape but created serious challenges for local communities.
