Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has said that “just wait a little longer—these hands tied with a fragile thread will be freed, and we will secure the release of Imran Khan.”
Addressing party workers at Shewa Adda in Swabi, Afridi said that a political committee meeting was held a day earlier and that he fully understands and respects the emotions of the people. “The feelings you have are the same as mine,” he said, adding that he wants to convey to senior leadership that his hands are currently bound but will soon be untied.
He said that his opponents are unable even to take Imran Khan’s name and instead refer to him indirectly. “Remember, there are only a few moments between the public’s passion and Imran Khan,” Afridi stated, reiterating that Khan’s release will be ensured.
The chief minister further said that elders taught them values and manners, while Imran Khan trained and guided them politically. “Unlike you, we respect our elders. You disobeyed the Quaid-e-Azam who created Pakistan. You do not respect the Constitution or the law. It is the Constitution and the legal system that bind this federation together,” he said.
Afridi also claimed that Imran Khan recently underwent eye surgery, but his illness was allegedly concealed from the nation, his family, and personal doctors. “When it was finally acknowledged, we demanded meetings with his family and personal physicians, but this was not allowed,” he said.
He added that party members spent a full day and night outside Adiala Jail and another day outside the Supreme Court, but their demands were ignored. “Imran Khan is your leader. You voted for him. I am a provincial chief minister, and we are people of dignity,” Afridi said.
A senior physician at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) has confirmed that former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan recently underwent a medical examination and treatment related to his right eye.
According to hospital officials, Imran Khan experienced temporary vision impairment caused by increased pressure in the blood vessels of his right eye. The condition prompted a detailed medical evaluation after he complained of reduced eyesight.
