Shab-e-Barat will be observed across Pakistan tonight with profound religious devotion, as Muslims take part in special worship and spiritual activities. Mosques, seminaries, and homes are preparing for night-long prayers, with believers offering Nawafil, reciting the Holy Quran, and making heartfelt supplications.
Religious scholars describe Shab-e-Barat as a night of exceptional blessings, mercy, and forgiveness. They note that while Allah Almighty’s mercy is always present, certain nights hold special spiritual importance, and the 15th night of Shaban is regarded as one of them. Worshippers are encouraged to seek forgiveness and renew their commitment to righteous living.
Ulema further explain that, according to Islamic teachings, matters related to sustenance, life, and death for the coming year are decreed by Allah’s command on this blessed night, making it a time for deep reflection and prayer.
Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology, Allama Raghib Naeemi, stated that Shab-e-Barat is also referred to as Lailat-ul-Mubarakah (the Blessed Night). Citing Hadith, he emphasized the importance of offering prayers during the night and observing a fast the following day, adding that deeds are presented before Allah Almighty on this spiritually significant occasion.
