Electricity consumers across Pakistan may face an increase in electricity tariffs as distribution companies have submitted applications to NEPRA for the second quarterly adjustment of the current financial year.
The companies have requested to recover Rs10.83 billion from consumers, while seeking Rs24.25 billion in capacity charges. At the same time, they have proposed a reduction of Rs1.65 billion in operation and maintenance charges.
The per-unit adjustment will be determined by NEPRA after reviewing the submissions. The proposed quarterly adjustment for October–December 2025 will also apply to K-Electric consumers.
NEPRA is scheduled to hear the applications on February 17, after which the final adjustment will be announced.
