KP CM Sohail Afridi says ‘medical terrorism’ committed against Imran Khan

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Sohail Afridi on Thursday raised serious concerns over the treatment of the jailed former prime minister Imran Khan, describing the current situation as alarming for the nation.

Speaking to the media, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader highlighted multiple issues, including the imprisonment of the founder’s wife, Bushra Bibi, and the denial of access for his sisters to meet him. Afridi accused authorities of throwing “chemical water” on them every Tuesday, calling it a new height of oppression.

Afridi criticized the medical care provided to the former prime minister, alleging that his eye surgery was conducted without his personal doctor and in a facility where his family was not present. He described this as “medical terrorism” against Imran Khan.

The PTI leader vowed to continue standing by the founder’s family and recognized the sacrifices of Aleema Khan and other party workers. Afridi also praised opposition leaders Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas for being entrusted with responsibilities by the founder to protest and negotiate on behalf of the party.

Referring to recent events, Afridi called February 8 a “black day” in Pakistan’s history, comparing the political oppression to the years 1971 and 1973. He condemned the removal of the party’s election symbol and the alleged manipulation of Form 47 under force.

Afridi emphasized that despite the provocation, the PTI has not taken the law into its own hands but remains committed to legal and peaceful protest.
