Construction of Lahore’s tallest commercial building has begun in the Central Business District (CBD), marking a major development in the city’s commercial landscape.
The 50-storey commercial tower, titled One Central Business District, is being built at a prime location in Gulberg on plot number one of the CBD. Officials said the project is expected to become a landmark and a significant addition to Lahore’s skyline.
The building is being developed by the Pakistan Corporate Consortium REIT Fund, which comprises six major business groups along with Lake City Holdings. The consortium includes Arif Habib, Fatima Group, Deen Group, Hilton Pharma, US Apparel Group and Surti Group.
According to officials, Lake City Holdings has signed an agreement with the world’s leading architect for the design and construction of the project. The agreement was signed by Sultan Gauhar.
Former caretaker federal minister Gauhar Ijaz and the Chief Secretary Punjab were also present at the ceremony marking the commencement of construction.
Officials said One Central Business District would be a masterpiece of modern architecture and is expected to set new standards for commercial development in Lahore.
