Federal Minister of State Talal Chaudhry said Friday that terrorists are now focusing on soft targets, following a deadly attack on a mosque that claimed 31 lives, including the first cousin of IG Islamabad.
He alleged that India and Afghanistan are behind the attack.
Chaudhry described the incident as “very sad” and confirmed that an investigation has been launched. Rescue teams reached the site within 10 to 15 minutes of the attack, which took place at 1:42 pm.
He added that the terrorist was not Afghan but data is being obtained on how many times he traveled to Afghanistan.
The minister said he personally visited PIMS Hospital on the instructions of the Interior Minister, as authorities continue collecting information about the attacker’s movements and background.
