David Warner, Usman Khawaja headline PSL 11 star-studded player auction

Retired Australian batting icons David Warner and Usman Khawaja headline a star-studded list of overseas players who have registered for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11 player auction, scheduled to be held on February 11, 2026.h room

According to league officials, a record 879 foreign cricketers from 24 countries have signed up for the auction, underlining the PSL’s growing appeal on the global cricketing stage. The upcoming season marks a historic shift for the tournament, as the PSL will adopt a full-fledged auction system for the first time, replacing the draft-based recruitment model used since the league’s launch in 2016.

Australia has emerged as the most represented country in the registration pool, with 60 players expressing interest. Alongside Warner and Khawaja, the Australian contingent includes prominent names such as Aaron Hardie, Ashton Turner, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Will Sutherland, Moises Henriques, Jason Behrendorff, and leg-spinner Tanveer Sangha, providing franchises with a wide range of elite batting and bowling options.

Under the revamped auction framework, each franchise has been allocated a PKR 450 million salary purse to assemble their squads. In addition, teams have access to PKR 55 million for direct signings, allowing franchises to secure marquee players ahead of the bidding process.

All franchises — including the two newly introduced teams, Hyderabad and Sialkot Stallionz — have already confirmed their list of retained players, offering clarity ahead of the auction. Most teams have also announced their direct signings, with Quetta Gladiators currently the only franchise yet to make their selections public.

A particularly unique situation surrounds Multan Sultans, who will enter the auction with a completely untouched purse. The franchise has neither retained any players nor made direct signings, as it is presently operating without a confirmed owner.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that the Multan franchise will be auctioned separately in Lahore on February 9, just two days before the PSL 11 player auction, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the build-up.

With global stars in the mix, new teams joining the competition, and a groundbreaking auction system set to debut, PSL 11 is shaping up to be one of the most transformative and closely watched seasons in the league’s history.
