US pushes jobs and growth in Sindh during Pak visit

US Consul General Natalie Baker said that through the Pak-US economic partnership, both countries are working together to create new employment opportunities.

During her visit to Sindh from January 25 to 31, Baker met with political leaders, business figures, and local representatives to reaffirm a commitment to economic growth and mutual cooperation. The visit aimed to promote economic development, regional stability, and shared Pak-US priorities, according to a statement from the US Consulate in Karachi.

Baker toured several industrial facilities in Mirpurkhas, including a sugar mill, ethanol and carbon dioxide plants, and a paper plant. She also paid respects at the graves of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto, and other prominent leaders at Gadhi Khuda Bakhsh.

The US Consul General met with leaders of the Hindu community to discuss interfaith harmony and the protection of equal rights for all citizens.

During her visit to Hyderabad, Baker toured Niaz Stadium and held meetings with Speaker of the Sindh Assembly Owais Qadir Shah and the Mayor of Sukkur, highlighting continued collaboration between Pakistan and the United States.

Earlier , Acting U.S. Ambassador Natalie Baker visited Nowshera, where she highlighted the importance of American business partnerships and educational opportunities in Pakistan. During the visit, she inaugurated a new KFC restaurant and also visited the KFC-supported Deaf Reach School, which is providing education and employment opportunities to Pakistan’s deaf community.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Baker said that American brands, in collaboration with Pakistani partners, are not only promoting business activities but are also directly contributing to the growth of the local economy.
