The 63rd meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP), chaired by Chairman P&D Board Dr. Naeem Rauf, approved seven development scheme amounting to Rs.7.5 billion in different development sectors.
Approved schemes are Strengthening of Surgery and Allied Departments with an estimated cost of Rs. 2,000 million, Construction of Nauraja Bhutta Flood Protection Bund on Right Side of River Sutlej with an estimated cost of Rs. 1,800 million
,Construction of Flood Protection Bund for Protection of Jalalpur Pirwala with an estimated cost of Rs. 1,200 million, Feasibility Study for Flood Management of River Ravi in Tehsil Shakargarh, Narowal & Chumbian Flood Protection Bund, District Sialkot with an estimated cost of Rs. 40 million, Consultancy Services for Design, Supervision and Rehabilitation of Link Canals with an estimated cost of Rs. 1,225 million, Rehabilitation of 3R Abbasia Drainage System to Reclaim Waterlogged Agricultural Land in Command Area of Abbasia Canal System with an estimated cost of Rs. 1,100 million. PDWP also approved position papers of the schemes included
Capacity Building of IWT&R Wing for Improved Regulation in Wake of Climate Change ( for creation of posts and purchase of vehicles) and
Establishment of PMO for Remodeling and Rehabilitation of Link Canals & Implementation of Mega Projects (for creation of posts and purchase of vehicles). The meeting was attended by the Chief Economist, Members P&D Board, and representatives from relevant departments.
