The atrocities being committed by Hindu zealots against minorities in India have shaken the world as the US Commission on International Religious Freedom has said that an increase has been witnessed in attacks on Christians living in India during the last 40 days, it was reported on Wednesday.
In its report, the commission has said that a pope was subjected to worst torture in Orissa.
It has further said that members of minority communities are detained on allegations of forcibly converting Hindus into Muslims or Christians.
“Taking into custody 12 Muslims who were praying inside their home in Uttar Pradesh is an example of atrocities by Hindu extremists,” the commission has said, and added that the BJP government in order to remain in power is using the ideology of Hindutva as political narrative.
It has noted that the persecution of Christians and Muslims has become a routine in India. “Congregations and places of worship of both these communities are targeted.”
The commission has said that the policies introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government in India have made the future of minorities in the country uncertain and that acting on the ideology of the RSS, the Indian government is busy marginalizing minorities by excluding them from mainstream politics.
