Chinese wrestler becomes disciple of Haripur Pehlwan after Mongli challenge

In the city of Haripur, a captivating tale of sports and culture emerged under theauspicious umbrella of good sportsmanship, wherein a Chinese wrestler attempted to takethe challenge of hoisting the traditional 82-kilogram Mongli (Indian Club) andthrough that deed became an official disciple of Jawad Pehlwan.

The day began with a warm and ceremonial reception of the guest, demonstrating the rich heritage of Pakistan in traditional sports. There were demonstrations of Gatka by Fakhar-e-Hazara Liaquat Pehlwan and Naveed Pehlwan. Ustad Tariq received a big round of applause from the audience as he mesmerized everyone by his sword fighting. Noor Elahi, a Mongli master-at-sixty-five from the Mongli community, dazzled everyone by skillfully rotating the Mongli.

The wrestling figure of Jawad Pehlwan had dared in front of everyone to lift his ‘Mongli,’ which weighed 82 kilograms and was his symbol of wrestling heritage. The Chinese wrestler, who had accepted the challenge when he was in the USA, could not even lift half of the weight. Being a humble sportsperson, he accepted his defeat and decided to take training from the Pehlwan.

“I came to Pakistan from the U.S. to assess my talent,” the Chinese wrestler commented. “Today I realized that the strength and skill of wrestling in Pakistan are unmatched. I will establish a Mongli club in China and will soon come back with my team to learn wrestling from Jawad Pehlwan. In addition, I will invite him to China to train our players to promote this art across the globe.”

Local dignitaries from Dheri were present during the celebrations, paying tribute to the mixture of physical prowess and cultural exchange. Community security ensured the proceedings were conducted in an orderly manner.

The event was celebrated as a milestone in the traditional sports of Pakistan, showcasing Hazara’s wrestling heritage as a form of international cultural discourse. The residents were also proud of Mongli’s international recognition as a legacy of power.

In a combination of competition, cultural performances, and mentorship, the Haripur competition represented more than physical prowess, creating bridges between nations. As the Chinese wrestler pledged to carry the national spirit, this marked a historic moment, educating readers on how sports unite nations while upholding traditional values.
