Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted that most parts of the country will remain under the influence of cold and dry weather, with temperatures staying low in northern and central regions over the coming days.
According to the weather department, the ongoing winter pattern is expected to keep conditions dry in the plains, while hilly areas may see partly cloudy skies. Morning and night temperatures are likely to remain particularly cold, especially in upper regions.
In Islamabad and nearby areas, cold and dry weather will dominate, with temperatures expected to fall to around 6°C in the morning before rising to nearly 26°C during the day. Similar conditions are forecast for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, where most districts will remain dry, while upper areas may experience very cold mornings and nights.
Punjab is also expected to witness dry weather across most districts. Cities such as Lahore and Faisalabad will likely have mild temperatures during the day, followed by a noticeable drop after sunset. Meanwhile, Murree and the Galiyat region will remain cold throughout the day, with gusty winds expected in parts of central and southern Punjab during daytime hours.
In Sindh, including Karachi, mainly dry weather is predicted with comparatively warmer daytime temperatures that may reach around 31°C, creating a contrast with the colder northern parts of the country.
Balochistan will also experience dry to partly cloudy weather, while northern districts such as Quetta will remain cold, especially during early morning and nighttime hours. The northern areas of Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir are expected to stay under intense winter conditions, with freezing mornings in cities like Gilgit and Skardu, where temperatures may hover around zero degrees Celsius.
Moreover, The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly cold and dry weather across most parts of the country on Friday, with isolated precipitation expected in northern mountainous areas.
According to the latest advisory, plains will largely remain dry, while hilly regions are expected to experience partly cloudy skies and very cold conditions, particularly during the early morning and nighttime hours. In Gilgit-Baltistan, light rain and light snowfall may occur at isolated locations, as temperatures continue to stay below freezing in higher altitudes.
In the federal capital Islamabad and adjoining areas, dry weather is likely to persist, accompanied by cold mornings and nights. Gusty winds are expected to blow during daytime hours, adding to the chill in open areas.
Most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will remain cold and dry, while upper districts such as Chitral, Dir and Swat are forecast to witness partly cloudy conditions, with chances of light rain or snowfall in surrounding localities. Temperatures in these areas are expected to drop significantly during early morning and nighttime hours.
Across Punjab, dry weather will prevail in most districts, with cold conditions during the morning and night. Hill stations including Murree and the Galiyat region are likely to remain cold and dry. Central and southern parts of the province may experience gusty winds during the day.
