Bollywood veteran Govinda, famed for his iconic comic timing, energetic dance moves, and hit films like Hero No. 1, Coolie No. 1, Raja Babu, and Partner, has recently earned admiration from fans in Pakistan.
A clip from the Indian Idol show circulating on TikTok shows Govinda explaining why he declined a role in the 2001 blockbuster Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. He revealed that the film included verbal abuse directed at another nation, which he was unwilling to perform. “I don’t even do films where I have to abuse others, especially against a nation, so I would have never done that for anyone,” he said. His statement reportedly surprised fellow panelists, including rapper Badshah.
Pakistani social media users praised the actor for his principled stance. Comments highlighted Govinda’s respect for other countries, with fans calling him “loving,” “No. 1,” and “admirable” for refusing roles that promoted negativity against Pakistan.
Earlier, Actor Govinda of Bollywood suffered serious injuries when he unintentionally shot himself with his authorized handgun.
For medical assistance, he was hurried to the hospital right away. Mumbai Police said that the actor was hurt by his own handgun misfiring while in his possession.
In an emotional statement, Govinda’s wife Sunita, who was in Kolkata at the time, said, “I want Govinda to be my son in the next life.”
The media was reassured by Govinda’s manager that the actor is safe and doing well.
