Four Indian-backed terrorists killed in Lakki Marwat operation: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Security forces killed four Indian-backed militants during an intelligence-based operation in Lakki Marwat District in the dead of last night, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The operation was launched after reports of the presence of militants described as belonging to an Indian proxy group, Fitna al Khwarij.

According to the military’s media wing, troops effectively engaged the militants’ location during the operation. An intense exchange of fire followed, resulting in the killing of four militants.

Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants. The military’s media wing stated that the individuals had remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area.

A sanitisation operation is currently under way to eliminate any other militants believed to be present in the vicinity. Security officials said the process aims to ensure the area is cleared of any remaining threats.

The operation forms part of the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign being conducted under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam”, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan. According to ISPR, security forces and law enforcement agencies continue to pursue foreign-sponsored and supported militants across the country.
