Hania Aamir breaks silence, condemns harassment online

Actor Hania Aamir has strongly condemned harassment and exploitation, stressing the importance of protecting the safety and dignity of women and girls.

Taking to Instagram Story, she clarified her position after her name recently surfaced in online discussions about a situation in which she had no knowledge or involvement.

“I hold a zero-tolerance stance toward harassment, exploitation, and any conduct that compromises the safety and dignity of women and girls,” she said.

“These are serious realities that must always be treated with gravity and respect. I support the courage it takes to come forward and stand firmly for environments where every woman and girl feels safe, heard, and protected.”

The actress further emphasized that she had chosen to distance herself from the individual in question, noting that any perceived association should not be seen as an endorsement of another person’s actions.

“My commitment remains to accountability, respect, and fostering safer spaces across all industries and communities,” she added.

“We all share a responsibility to challenge harmful behavior, support those who speak up, and uphold standards that protect the dignity and safety of women and girls at all times.”

The statement comes after Pakistani model Mahnoor Rahim accused TV producer Umer Mukhtar of sending inappropriate late-night messages to women, including some underage users.

In a viral Instagram video, Mahnoor recounted receiving a 3:00 AM message while visiting her sister in Canada, which she initially assumed was work-related. The conversation reportedly turned personal, and she later discovered he was married.

She shared screenshots with his wife, who appeared aware of his behavior. Mahnoor also criticized Hania Aamir, a former UN Women National Goodwill Ambassador, for remaining publicly close to Mukhtar, saying it undermined her advocacy for safe spaces for women.

She claimed she reached out to Hania via Instagram but received no reply.

In response, Hania clarified that the screenshots and conversations attributed to her were false, condemned harassment, urged fact-checking, and distanced herself from the controversy while reaffirming her support for women’s safety and dignity.
