The Balochistan provincial cabinet has approved the creation of new divisions and districts in the province, along with a rearrangement of administrative boundaries, in line with the decisions taken at a meeting held on January 19, 2026.
According to the decisions, a new district named Barshor will be created, with its headquarters at Barshor and Toba Kakri included in its boundaries.
A new Pishin Division will also be created, encompassing the districts of Pishin, Barshor, Chaman and Qila Abdullah. In addition, the Quetta district will be divided into two districts, while Mastung will be separated from Kalat Division and included in the Quetta Division.
The existing boundaries of the Zhob Division — which include Zhob, Musa Khel and Qila Saifullah — will remain unchanged. Meanwhile, Loralai Division will include Loralai, Duki, Musa Khel and Ziarat districts.
Another new division, named Koh-e-Sulaiman Division, will be created, covering Upper Dera Bugti, Kohlu and Barkhan, with a yet-to-be-designated headquarters. The existing Naseerabad Division will continue to include Jhal Magsi and other districts.
The cabinet has instructed that the remaining administrative details and adjustments be presented in the next meeting, signalling the finalisation of the province’s updated divisional structure.
